Most strokes don't come out of nowhere — the risk builds silently in your bloodwork for years before anything happens. This panel was designed to surface the markers that standard tests miss, so you can take action while you still have time to make a difference.

Lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a), is a genetically determined cholesterol particle that promotes clot formation and arterial inflammation. It's one of the strongest independent risk factors for stroke and heart attack.

Why we included it: Lp(a) is almost never included in standard lipid panels — yet roughly 1 in 5 people carry elevated levels and have no idea. You can't manage a risk you don't know about.

Apolipoprotein B (ApoB) counts the total number of harmful cholesterol particles circulating in your blood. Each dangerous particle carries exactly one ApoB molecule, making it the most precise measure of cardiovascular particle burden.

Why we included it: ApoB predicts stroke risk more accurately than LDL cholesterol. Some people with normal LDL have dangerously high ApoB — a risk that standard panels completely miss.

High-sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hsCRP) is the most sensitive marker of vascular inflammation in the body. Inflamed blood vessels are more prone to clot formation — the direct cause of most strokes.

Why we included it: Elevated hsCRP doubles stroke risk independent of cholesterol levels. It's one of the most powerful and actionable risk markers available — and it responds directly to lifestyle changes.

Total cholesterol measures the overall amount of cholesterol in your blood and provides the baseline context for interpreting your full lipid profile.

Why we included it: Total cholesterol alone is a limited marker, but it's essential context for understanding how your HDL, LDL, and triglycerides fit together to form your overall vascular risk picture.

HDL (High-Density Lipoprotein) is the protective cholesterol that removes plaque-forming particles from artery walls and transports them back to the liver. Higher levels are associated with lower stroke risk.

Why we included it: Low HDL is an independent stroke risk factor. It's also the ratio of HDL to total cholesterol that often tells the most important story about vascular health.

LDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein) is the primary cholesterol particle that deposits into artery walls and drives plaque buildup — the underlying process behind most strokes and heart attacks.

Why we included it: LDL remains the most widely studied and clinically actionable lipid marker for stroke prevention. It's the standard benchmark against which other advanced markers are compared.

Triglycerides are blood fats that, when elevated, contribute to the formation of small dense LDL particles — the most dangerous form of LDL for arterial health.

Why we included it: High triglycerides combined with low HDL is one of the most predictive patterns for stroke risk, yet it's a combination that's easy to overlook without the full picture.

HbA1c measures your average blood sugar over the past 2–3 months. Chronically elevated blood sugar damages blood vessel walls and dramatically increases the risk of clot formation and stroke.

Why we included it: Diabetes and prediabetes double or triple stroke risk. HbA1c catches blood sugar problems months or years before they're diagnosed — when lifestyle changes can still reverse the trajectory.
